Loans may be requested for certain financial situations or student emergencies. These are only granted under certain conditions and require a detailed examination.
Interim Loan
An interim loan can be granted to you if, through no fault of your own, you find yourself in a financial emergency that jeopardizes the continuation of your studies.
You can apply for a maximum of 2,500 €. The loan is interest-free.
Important: The loan must be guaranteed by a guarantor. Please refer to the loan guidelines for more details.
There is no legal claim to the granting of an interim loan.
Graduation Student Loans
Graduation student loans are aimed at students who are in the final stages of their studies and are about to graduate.
The maximum loan amount is €2,500. The loan is interest-free.
Important: The loan must be guaranteed by a guarantor. Please refer to the loan guidelines for more details.
There is no legal claim to the granting of a student loan.
BAföG bridging loan
If the disbursement or approval of BAföG is delayed and a sudden financial emergency situation arises as a result, the Studierendenwerk will grant a bridging loan after consultation with the Office for Educational Support.
The repayment of the disbursed sum is made by the BAföG office.
A guarantor is not required.
