In order for the Studierendenwerk to fulfill its tasks, the Higher Education Act allows it to levy an appropriate social contribution. The amount of this solidarity contribution is set by the Studierendenwerk's administrative board and reviewed and approved by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Science and Health.
The social contribution, which all students must pay when enrolling and re-registering, is currently €125 per semester.
