We have come up with new food concepts for the free flow in the main canteen for you. It will be colourful, creative and, above all, healthy: skewers, hot dogs and tacos to fill yourself, as well as Arancini Lab Dolce Vita or Italian pasta from the wok. Health-conscious guests, flexitarians, vegans, protein lovers and fans of urban street food vibes will get their money's worth here. Look forward to it!
The kebab workshop is all about kebabs made with meat, fish, tofu or halloumi. Here you can get protein in sensible portions, less fat and fried options, and more vegetables instead. Your kebab could look like this:
- Chicken breast skewers with mango mole and chilli honey glaze
- Citrus lime salmon skewers with cucumber and dill salsa
- Tofu miso mare skewers (Black Forest miso)
- Halloumi and pineapple skewers with peppermint yoghurt
At Style your Dog, we bring urban street food vibes to the canteen, where you can get creative and put together your own hot dogs, whether with meat, vegetarian or vegan options. The sausage, as the core component, is available in many variations: Kikok (chicken) sausage, Thuringian bratwurst, beef sausage, salmon sausage or vegan sausage. The rolls are also available in different varieties.
Here are some of our favourites:
- Urban Classic: Beef sausage, sesame roll, mustard honey, sauerkraut, onions
- Veggie Sausage: Chickpea sausage, wholemeal roll, avocado crema, tomato relish, coriander
- Salmon Citrus: Salmon sausage, lemon dill sauce, cucumber dill salad
- ‘Me & Veggie’ Signature: Vegan sausage, tzatziki cabbage, grilled peppers
The tacos (tortillas) & turf are all about the motto: Build-Your-Beat. It is particularly important to us that they are fresh, nutritious and made from sustainable products, and that they have a good balance of protein, vegetables, fibre and healthy fats. The basic tortillas or tacos are made from wheat or corn (gluten-free). Here are some ideas for filling your taco or tortilla:
- Chicken breast marinated in cayenne yoghurt marinade
- Beef seasoned with chipotle cocoa
- Smoked tofu with sesame ginger marinade (vegan)
You can refine all concepts at our extensive topping bar with mango chilli salsa, coleslaw, lemonade, caramelised onions, ajvar, yoghurt dill sauce, avocado cream, chilli lime, tahini sesame, BBQ with honey, tomato relish, pickled cucumbers, pepperoni, sauerkraut, spring onions or fresh coriander.
If you want more low-carb or high-fibre options, you can add to your meal with a choice of side dishes: small seasoned baked potatoes; grilled vegetables (courgette, peppers, mushrooms), oven-baked cherry tomatoes, coleslaw or potato salad.
Each food concept is always available from Tuesday to Thursday at freeflow. Everything is self-service. Payment is by weight: 100 g costs £0.90 for students.
In the first week, there will be skewers, in the second hot dogs, in the third tacos or tortillas, and in the fourth arancini or pasta. After that, the whole thing will rotate again. We will start at the beginning of the winter semester on 20 October 2025.
